We like Autumn leaves! This time of year, we like to gather each and every wonderful or fascinating leaf we see, coming house with a new stack of red, orange, yellow, brown, and green each day.

And we do not just gather leaves. We like to use them for so several crafts and art activities! There are endless approaches to use leaves – you can draw and paint autumn leaves, or you can draw and paint on the autumn leaves!

If you want to draw on the leaves you have collected, you have got to attempt generating zentangle leaves.

Zentangles are formed when the identical pattern is drawn more than and more than once again. They are super enjoyable for children and adults alike. We like to use the book, One Zentangle A Day for inspiration. And leaves provide the fantastic canvas for generating zentangles of all types!

How to Make Zentangle Leaves

Supplies

*A note about the leaves: You can do these on pressed and dried leaves or on fresh Autumn leaves. If you use fresh leaves, you could want to press them for a handful of days immediately after drawing on them, so they dry flat rather than curling up.

Directions

  1. Prepare your work region

Protect your work surface with a mat or piece of paper (in case your permanent marker wanders off the edge of your leaf). We like to use black paper, since the metallic Sharpies appear so excellent on it and we have a tendency to doodle on the paper, as well.

  2. Create your leaf zentangle

Choose a leaf and doodle styles, pictures, and words on it with the metallic Sharpies.

Use a Zentangle book for inspiration if you like or produce your personal repeating patterns and styles.

  4. Preserve with Mod Podge (optional)

If preferred, add a coat of Mod Podge to the prime of the Zentangle leaves.

This brings back the vibrant colour and also tends to make the leaves more supple. If you are hoping to save the leaves year immediately after year, you can add a coat to the back of the leaf, as well.
