Here are some vision board ideas and examples that span over 20 years of making vision boards. You’ll see 6 of my newer ideas in a variety of fun formats as well as some classic vision board examples.

Images hold a tremendous amount of power for me. I like words, too, but they flow in and out of my head without catching hold quite the way that images do. So, I typically plan my life through collage.
I assemble images and words that speak to me (mostly cut from old magazines) into a visual reminder of what I’m about and what I want to focus on. And what I want to bring into my life.
In other words, I make a vision board for myself.
I’ve also heard these called dream boards, goal boards, inspiration boards, future boards, and soul collages. But I call them vision boards.
I do this around the New Year and then usually again at some point if I’m feeling the need to readdress my goals and intentions.
And so, I thought I’d share some of my more recent vision board ideas and examples that may help you get inspired.
6 Vision Board Ideas
1. Digital Vision Boards
Apps like Canva allow you to make digital vision boards to use as wallpaper on the phone or computer. That way, you see your inspiration whenever you turn on your phone or laptop!
2. A 3D Vision Board Altar
Create a smaller standalone vision board to display on a table or special place. You can easily make this from a shoebox and add some personal items inside it.
3. Vision Board Cards
These tiny & portable vision boards are so cute! You can tuck them in a book or your wallet and always have some inspiration on hand.
4. Vision Board Posters
I make these digitally, print them out poster-size, and frame them to hang in my bedroom. They feel a little more finished than a vision board cut from magazines.
5. Video Vision Boards
Create a video collage of inspiring images, words, and music. Watch it whenever you need a pick me up.
6. An Accordion-Fold Vision Board Book
You can fold this one up as a book and take it with you or stand up in your office to look at for inspiration!
